How do you “mock upholster” furniture so that a store bought slipcover fits well?

macsjuls asked:

I just bought slipcovers for my wing chairs and sofa. Neither fit worth a darn, due to skinny wings on the chair and skinny arms on both. I’ve seen them use batting or foam (I think) on home shows before to fill this gap…but never paid attention to specifics. If anyone has any hints, ideas or info…would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Personalizing Your Wedding Chair Covers

Every bridal couple dreams of having a wedding that is elegant, sophisticated and special in every way. Moreover, they’d like their wedding to reflect their own unique sense of style and will go to great lengths to plan every little detail from the wedding invitations to the bridal gown, from the wedding cake to the choice of venue and the decorations.

In any wedding decor planning, chair covers are a major styling issue and more and more importance is now being given to this decor detail. Wedding chair covers make a dramatic difference to the overall ambiance of any room. A room full of chairs draped in the wedding colours can transform any room from ordinary to extraordinary in an instant.

Swathed in ivory colored satin or pure white gossamer tulle, an ordinary plastic chair can be instantly transformed into an elegant seat fit for royalty. Adding an organza sash in the same shade will give the chair a regal look if you have one wedding color, whereas a sash in a complementary color can help bring your event colors together if you have a two-toned wedding. Match the table runners with the sashes and what you have is a room that is perfect in every way.

Given the tremendous impact that chair covers have on the overall look of the room, just personalizing only your wedding chair covers can make the entire venue look exceedingly elegant and chic.

How To Personalize Chair Covers

Chair covers are versatile and can be personalized in any one of several ways. The simplest way is for the bridal couple to get the initials of their names embossed on the backrest of the chair covers. Alternatively the initials of their names could be embroidered or even decorated in sequins and beads.

For a snowflake themed wedding, you could get tiny snowflakes embroidered or embossed on your chair covers or again these could be outlined with sequins and beads.

Wedding chair covers with shell motifs strewn all over would be perfect for a wedding by the beach.

Where To Get Personalized Chair Covers

The best place to look for personalized wedding chair covers is on the internet. There are several online companies that deal with selling or even hiring chair covers. They offer an endless array of chair covers in a wide range of colors and designs and in price ranges to suit any budget. All you need to do to book your personalized wedding chairs is provide the chair cover company with the exact color scheme of your wedding, the kind of chairs at the reception venue, the personalization details and your wedding date.

When you book your personalized chair covers through online companies, you can be sure you will get exactly what you were looking for. What’s more, they will be delivered right to your doorstop on the agreed upon date.

Personalized chair covers may be more expensive than regular chair covers but for the everlasting impression they create, they are undoubtedly worth it.
